I think I would be happy having a Birdhaus every day of my life. And some weeks I've come pretty close and stopped by like 4 times... Service is always great with friendly staff and the food is consistently good. I've never had to wait long, even when they're pretty busy. They only have a few tables inside but I always get mine to go since I live nearby so I can't speak much about that part of the restaurant. Credit cards only, which is fine for me because I never have cash anyways.
When I asked my husband what else I should add to this review, he said "it's good, cheap, and quick." What more can you ask for?! -

We are so glad we found this place!
On our last afternoon in NY, we saw that BaoHaus was about to open and couldn't wait to get a taste. We could smell the aromas from outside.
In summary: this was Chinese Baos on a new level. It was baos on crack.
Customer service: A+
We also had the green tea which was very refreshing. A little on the sweet side, but great for a hot summer day in NY.
Everything about this place was amazing.
I can't wait to be back. -

I swear BaoHaus tasted way better 3 years ago. And a bun wasn't $5.50 each. I ordered 3 buns and each were about the size of half a burger.
Not that bad but not amazing either
Loved the music though. -

Awesome place to stop by and grab some delicious baos. They stuff these bad boys with plenty of meat. I tried the Chairman bao, Birdhaus bao and the Spiceland bao with some friends. The Chairman was delicious as they stuff it with a braised all natural thick cut of pork belly. The Birdhaus has a nice crispy texture with the 24 hour all natural fried chicken. The Spiceland packs some heat as it has the Szechuan chili oil. They offer a nice variety here and the wait is not long for your baos. Highly recommend this spot if you want to much on some baos as they have all types to satisfy all flavor profiles. Space is very tight and they have limited seating. Its best to grab and go.

This place showed up on a list of good cheap eats in New York, so we decided to give it a try.
Sure, it was a little cheap at like $6 for one of the buns, but the buns were quite tiny. The food quality though wasn't all that great. We had the fried chicken and the pork belly one, and it didn't taste all that good.
Seating is also a little limited inside.
